Early Childhood to Sixth Grade Bilingual Generalist (BIL) is designed for students seeking Texas certification to teach in a bilingual or general elementary classroom. You will earn a B.S. in Education. 

Our bilingual program is specifically focused on educational issues that relate to students whose first language is Spanish. For this reason, fluency in Spanish is required.

As a Bilingual Education Major, You Will

  • Learn to provide equal educational opportunities to elementary students of limited English proficiency
  • Adopt teaching practices specific to educating bilingual children
  • Infuse principles of social and emotional learning into your curriculum
