Description

Join the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education (KHE) for its 41st Annual Alderson Lecture and Awards Ceremony. Honoring the late Dr. C.J. (Shorty) and Dr. Mary Buice Alderson, this annual celebration welcomes prominent leaders in the field of Kinesiology and Health Education to lead the conversation around current industry trends and challenges.

Executive Director of Con Alma Health Foundation, Denise Herrera, Ph.D., MCHES will lead the keynote presentation, “#RonaDiaries: UT prepared me to lead during a global health crisis.” Following the lecture, the KHE department will hold its annual award ceremony to recognize outstanding students and exceptional faculty for their significant contributions.

Light refreshments will be provided and no registration is required. Doors open at 5:00 p.m.

About the Speaker

Denise Herrera
Dr. Herrera has managed broad portfolios of federally funded studies, statewide quality improvement efforts, and initiatives focused on improving outcomes for underserved communities. She has provided programmatic and evaluation expertise on issues related to leadership development, community health and civic engagement in the U.S. and abroad. Dr. Herrera is an alumna of the college, receiving her Ph.D. in health education from The University of Texas at Austin.
