Chandel Burgess is a doctoral student studying STEM Education at the University of Texas at Austin. She is a mixed methodologist whose research interests center the experiences of Black women in postsecondary STEM spaces. Her current research investigates mentorship for Black women STEM majors. Chandel works as a TA for the course "Intro to Quantitative Research Design" (EDC 385R) and as a GRA for various projects. Before beginning her doctoral studies in STEM Education, Chandel worked as an AP Calculus teacher for 2 years.
