Laura I Sanchez

Laura Iris Sanchez, M.Ed. is a doctoral student in Language and Literacy Studies at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research explores literacy development through Montessori-inspired pedagogies, culturally sustaining and raciolinguistic frameworks, and the role of children’s literature in identity formation. Drawing on her background in teacher education, Laura mentors preservice teachers in reading and writing instruction, emphasizing classroom practices that honor students’ linguistic and cultural resources. Her work bridges scholarship and practice through projects on authentic literacy instruction, multilingual learners, and community-based literacy partnerships.
