Qiulin He
Qiulin (Jocelyn) He (she/her) is a doctoral student in Educational Leadership & Policy and a Graduate Research Assistant at the Texas Education Research Center. Her research investigates how educational opportunity is structurally organized and operationalized across systems. She is especially interested in translating between population-based longitudinal data and on-the-ground survey insights.
Her academic journey began with a focus on economics and finance, culminating in a M.A. in Economics and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Melbourne. Her early career in business, where she held roles as an investment analyst, capital market analyst, and strategy consultant, provided her with a bird-eye view of socioeconomic structures, organizational dynamics, and policy implementation. Ongoing reflection on these experiences led her to explore deeper questions about how policy design and organizational mechanisms shape social contracts through education, ultimately prompting her transition into academia.
