Wajiha is a doctoral student of Education Policy and Planning. She previously received her masters in Education Policy from The George Washington University as a Fulbright Scholar. She is an international student from Pakistan. Her bachelors degree was in Computer Science from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). Her research interests are Gender and Education, Comparative International Analysis with a specific interest in South Asia, School Choice and Gender, mixed-methods and CritQuant methods, and Data Science for Education Policy.

Wajiha has worked in the non-profit sector in Pakistan and the US, on projects related to education for the underprivileged, especially girls. She has also been a high school teacher in a private school in Pakistan. Her research dissertation specifically focuses on gender and charter schools (aka Public-Private Partnership Schools) from an international comparative lens.

Wajiha is the founder of a start-up, Alif Se Yeh – Urdu Hub which teaches Urdu as a Foreign Language to students all over the world. Wajiha created her own curriculum and pedagogy for Urdu language teaching. She volunteers for a Citizen-led movement for education of the poor - especially girls, called Coin The Education based in Sindh, Pakistan. Wajiha helps the initiative in Fund Raising and Awareness Campaigns. In her spare time, she likes to volunteer for Theatre for Social Change and use Drama-based Pedagogy for Education.

Wajiha aspires to be part of academia after her doctoral degree and through her research wants to have a positive impact on equitable education, especially for girls in her home country, and globally at a bigger platform.
