Emily Donaldson is a master's student in the Educational Policy and Planning program at the University of Texas at Austin. She previously received a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Emily is a Texas native who has worked as an education journalist in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas. In her time as a reporter, Emily covered local and state education issues including school funding, accountability and assessments, and early education. This work influenced her to enroll in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy at UT to understand the policy-making process fully so that she can continue to work towards making Texas' public schools places that better serve the needs of all students.
