Paulina has 17 years of teaching experience, covering multiple topics and contexts focused on education, second languages, bilingualism, and learning sciences with students across Mexico, the United States, China, and Russia. Her research interests focus on dual language education, willingness to communicate, language retention, language anxiety, educational storytelling, and learning strategies. She explores the social, emotional, and cognitive processes that support language acquisition and learning, with the goal of making language education more effective, meaningful, and affirming.
Paulina is passionate about learning, teaching, and research, and she is committed to continuing in each of these areas. She holds five master’s degrees, including Bilingual Education, Spanish as a Foreign Language, Neurocognition, Human Development, and Psychomotricity, as well as two bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Graphic Design. She is certified to teach English and Spanish. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Bilingual/Bicultural Education at the University of Texas at Austin, where she has also worked as a TA, AI, and GRA.
Paulina’s academic work has earned recognition through multiple honors and national awards, including the CONAHCYT scholarship award, research recognition in her first master's degree, honors and research recognition in her second master's degree, and the CONAHCYT scholarship and award for her Ph.D. in Austin.
