College of Education alumna Brandi Hosack, M.Ed. ’11, has been named Austin Independent School District’s Principal of the Year. Hosack, who started her teaching career in 2004, has served as principal of W. Charles Akins High School since 2015.
Hosack credits her success to the University of Texas at Austin Principalship Program (UTAPP) , saying, “The UTAPP program was exactly what I needed when I decided to begin my leadership journey. It pushed my thinking, helped me formulate what kind of leader I wanted to be, and gave me the solid foundation I needed in order to feel confident as a school administrator. I could not recommend a better preparation program for aspiring leaders.”
