College of Education Alumni to be Recipients of 2018 SHAPE America Awards

Two College of Education alumni will receive honors at the 2018 SHAPE America Convention and Expo. Erin Centeio will receive the Mabel Lee award, and Brian Dauenhauer will receive the Helen Heitmann Young Scholar Award. SHAPE America (Society of Health and Physical Educators) is the nation’s largest membership organization of health and physical education professionals. SHAPE America provides resources that support health and physical educators in having a positive impact on school health. The SHAPE America Convention and Expo will be held in Nashville, Tennessee from March 20-24, 2018.

The Helen M. Heitmann Young Scholar Award recognizes an outstanding young professional for his/her exceptional contributions to research in the field of curriculum and instruction.

The Mabel Lee Award recognizes younger members who have demonstrated outstanding potential in scholarship, teaching, and/or professional leadership.
