Alexis Phillips, a recently graduated exercise science major, has been awarded the Mary Pendleton Volunteer Appreciation Award by the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Dell Children’s Medical Center. This is awarded to one volunteer per location each year and is given to someone who has great communication with the staff, is loyal to their position, connects with families, and is a great example of a volunteer.
Alexis will continue to volunteer at Dell Children’s Medical Center this summer, and is in the process of applying to medical schools. She is also looking into volunteering with the YMCA to teach dance or gymnastics classes to youth.
