The University of Texas spent $1.06 billion in research expenditures in 2023, funding more than 4,000 impactful projects across all colleges and schools. Among the projects benefitting from the increased funding is the National Disability Center for Student Success which received a $5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education last fall. Founded by Educational Psychology professor Stephanie Cawthon and her research partners, the Center will pioneer innovative research that addresses the challenges disabled students face after high school, such as classroom inclusivity, degree completion and workforce readiness.
