The Kicker: COE Student Scores Second All-American Title

Lexi Missimo, a College of Education student studying Physical Culture and Sports, has been widely recognized for her exceptional soccer skills. As one of the most formidable players in college soccer today, she recently joined an elite group as one of only six female student-athletes in UT women’s soccer history to earn more than one All-American honors, a remarkable feat for any athlete.

Hailing from Southlake, Texas, the 5′8″ midfielder has continued to build an impressive list of athletic accolades since earning First Team-All American in 2023. In 2024 alone, Missimo was a semifinalist for the Women’s MAC Hermann Trophy for the second consecutive season, and was also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast First Team.

With her second All-American award, Missimo joins her fellow women’s soccer student-athletes who have also earned this distinction: Trinity Byars, Julia Grosso, Cyera Hintzen, Kasey Moore and Kelly Wilson.

In November, the women’s soccer team secured its first Southeastern Conference (SEC) victory since joining the league in July. Missimo’s expert corner kick assist set up teammate Carly Montgomery to score the winning goal.

Missimo stands out as the only women’s soccer student-athlete in the SEC to achieve double-digit goals and assists in a single season.

At the College of Education, we take great pride in our talented student-athletes, like Lexi Missimo, who bring the same dedication and drive from the classroom to the sport that they play so well. We remain committed to supporting their success both academically and athletically, ensuring they thrive in every aspect of their college experience.
