The College of Education honors and remembers longtime faculty member Nolan Estes, professor emeritus in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy and director of the Cooperative Superintendency Program, whose distinguished career and immeasurable contributions to education have left an enduring legacy.
A past president of the Texas Association of School Administrators and former Dallas ISD superintendent, Estes passed away in April at 94. He was appointed associate U.S. Commissioner of Education under President Lyndon B. Johnson.
We extend our sincerest condolences to the Estes family and express our deep gratitude for his visionary leadership of our college and the field of education.
