In recognition of her record of excellence in graduate student teaching, mentoring, educational innovation and engagement with graduate programs’ curricular reform, College of Education faculty member Jessica Toste was awarded a President’s Associates Graduate Teaching Excellence Award for the 2022-23 academic year.
Dr. Toste is an associate professor in the Department of Special Education and a fellow of the Reading Institute within The Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk. She teaches courses on reading instruction, learning disability and special education law.
The recipients of the President’s Associates Graduate Teaching Excellence Award are UT Austin’s educational innovators whose commitment and performance is not only teach, but to inspire graduate student learners. In 2017, Dr. Toste was also named one of the Texas Ten – a group of faculty members nominated by UT Austin alumni as a professor who inspired them during their time on the Forty Acres.
The President’s Associates Graduate Teaching Excellence Award is made possible by contributions from friends of the university who are committed to the quality of our educational programs – a group of people known as the President’s Associates.
The College of Education congratulates Dr. Toste for this well-deserved recognition!
