As founder of the program’s first endowment and host of the annual Sport Management Alumni and Friends tailgate, it is no secret that Bryan Moynihan (B.S. ’91) is a champion of the Sport Management program – and its current students and alumni.
By investing in our students and fostering connections within our UT alumni network, we have the power to shape careers, elevate the program and ensure it remains a leader in the field,
Moynihan said.
Following the Moynihan’s most recent gift to establish a second endowment and support the renovation of the program’s space, the College of Education has named the Bryan and Andree Moynihan Sport Management Hall in their honor. The newly revitalized area, located on the sixth floor of Bellmont Hall within the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, will inspire generations of students and celebrate alumni achievements.
Bryan Moynihan received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 1991 from the College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin just before the Sport Management program was established.
However, as he applied his degree to this field, his storied career has included stints with UT Athletics, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Houston Texans. Currently, he serves as Vice President for Ticket Sales and Service at the Valero Alamo Bowl.
As Moynihan’s professional success grew over the years, he and his wife, Andree, began to give back to his alma mater through philanthropy. Among his notable contributions, he helped establish the UT Sport Management Club for current students, where he continues to serve as a mentor today.
Together, Bryan and Andree also established the Bryan and Andree Moynihan Endowed Excellence Fund in Sport Management, marking the program’s first-ever endowment.

Their generous donation provides funding support for undergraduate students pursuing internships in sport management, providing opportunities that might otherwise be unattainable due to salary, travel and living cost constraints.
Supporting sport management students as they pursue internships is my way of ensuring they have the resources they need to follow their dreams,
Moynihan said.
The Moynihan’s contributions have made is possible for students to gain invaluable career experience by supporting their participation in internships with groups including the Miami Dolphins NFL football team, the basketball division of influential sports agency Creative Artists Agency, and leadership training organization Pro Sports Assembly.
The significance of Bryan’s contributions to the program cannot be overstated,
said Dr. Matt Bowers (Ph.D. ’11), director of the Sport Management program and associate professor of instruction in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education at the college.
Dr. Bowers said Moynihan connected with the program at just the right moment. He views Moynihan as a true partner in our mutual efforts to pursue creating even more value for our students and alumni base.
He has injected just the right level of energy and enthusiasm to help us get some real momentum behind what we are building here,
Dr. Bowers said. He is the consummate Longhorn!
Now with the creation of his second endowment and revitalized program space, Moynihan hopes to create a worldwide network of Texas Exes who not only support the sport management industry, but who also can be a resource for current and future students.
To inspire future generations of Longhorns, the renovated space reflects the program’s success by showcasing the accomplishments of talented alumni who are making their mark in the world of sport. From working with professional sport teams to leading entertainment organizations, the featured Sport Management alumni will set the example for prospective and current students as they carve their own paths to success.
Bryan Moynihan remains committed to cultivating relationships between current students, industry resources and alumni to maintain and grow the program’s competitive standing.
Connecting these students with our incredible alumni not only helps them launch their careers but also strengthens the legacy of the Sport Management program,
Moynihan said.
Through their continued support, the Moynihans hope to inspire alumni to follow in their footsteps to provide additional resources for future students and support the next generation of sport management leaders.
Together, we can make a lasting impact and build a stronger future for Sport Management at UT,
Moynihan said.
The College of Education proudly recognizes Bryan and Andree Moynihan for their steadfast support and commitment to providing students with hands-on learning opportunities that prepare them for successful careers.
