Alumnus Thomas Evans Named President of the University of the Incarnate Word

Thomas Evans, Ph.D. ’04, has been inaugurated 10th president of the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. According to an article in My San Antonio, in his inauguration speech, “Evans pledged to double the private university’s endowment over the next decade and announced the endowment of a new scholarship for high-performing, low-income students. “

Evans graduated from the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy. His previous leadership positions include president of Carroll College in Helena, Montana, and associate vice president of professional education and global initiatives at St. Edward’s University in Austin.
