Nora Luna

Dr. Luna is Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in Bilingual-Bicultural Education. She earned her doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on elementary science education from The University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley. Her dissertation included the study of Mexican American elementary science teachers’ culturally relevant pedagogy. Her research interests include critical race theory specifically Latinx critical race theory and multigenerational subtractive schooling experienced by a marginalized majority. Dr. Luna was a career bilingual science educator for 20 years in The Valley located in the southern tip of Texas.
