Kinkade graduated from UT Austin with a M.Ed. in Administration and recently retired from the Austin Independent School District after 34 years in public school education, 28 as an administrator. Kinkade was most recently the principal at Mathews Elementary School and previously was principal at Mills Elementary School and Casis Elementary School. In addition, she was Head of School at the Austin Jewish Academy for 4 years. She has extensive experience with social and emotional learning, students with special needs, and homeless students and currently serves on the Board for CapCityKids, a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist homeless students in schools. Kinkade is an educational consultant and provides professional development to teachers in the Central Texas area. She currently contracts with Region 13 Education Service Center, specializing in: teacher evaluation (TTESS), social and emotional learning, leadership development (AEL-Advancing Educational Leadership), and supervision of pre-service teachers and alternative certification teachers.
